Prayer times

Fajr to Isha, calculated for exactly where you're standing.

No lookup table, no server round-trip. The sun's position at your coordinates decides the time.

How it works

Five prayers, one calculation.

SAMT takes your coordinates and today's date and works out the sun's angle at dawn, noon, mid-afternoon, sunset, and dusk — the astronomical events every calculation method is actually built on. Change your location, calibration finishes, and the times update immediately. No connectivity required at any point.

Questions

Prayer times, answered.

Do prayer times need an internet connection? +
No. Everything is computed on-device from your coordinates and the date — nothing is fetched from a server, because there is no server.
Can I get reminders before each prayer? +
Yes. SAMT schedules reminders for the next seven days directly on your device using your phone's own notification system. If your device can't confirm its timezone, SAMT won't schedule anything rather than risk reminding you at the wrong hour.
What if I travel to a different city? +
Prayer times recalculate for your new location automatically once SAMT has an updated position. If you've prayed more than 25km from anywhere already saved, your Passport will also quietly offer to remember the new place.
Which Asr convention should I choose? +
Standard (Shafi'i, Maliki, Hanbali) sets Asr when an object's shadow equals its height. Hanafi sets it when the shadow is twice the height, which lands later in the afternoon. Choose whichever your community follows.

Never miss a prayer to a bad connection.
