SAMT is a Qibla app that finds the direction of the Kaaba, calibrates your compass, shows prayer times, and remembers the places you've prayed. There is no account to create, and no SAMT server your data is sent to — because SAMT doesn't run one. Everything the app needs to work is computed on your device.
This policy explains, plainly, what data the app touches, what stays on your device, and what a third-party service — Google AdMob, which shows ads in the app — collects on its own behalf.
The following are stored only in the app's local storage on your phone. SAMT has no server to send them to, so they never leave the device unless you explicitly export or share them:
Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage from your device's settings, permanently deletes all of the above. There is no copy anywhere else to recover from — nothing is backed up to a SAMT server.
SAMT asks for your location to point the Qibla and calculate prayer times accurately. You can decline and choose a city manually instead — every feature still works, just based on the city you picked rather than a live position. Location is read on-device by the operating system and used immediately in the app's own calculations; SAMT does not run analytics on your movements and does not build a location history beyond the places you choose to save in your Passport.
SAMT shows ads through Google AdMob to support keeping the app free. AdMob is operated by Google, and it collects data independently of SAMT to select and measure ads — SAMT does not control or see this data directly. Depending on your device and settings, this can include:
On iOS, SAMT will ask for App Tracking Transparency permission; declining still shows ads, just less targeted ones. On Android and iOS alike, you can reset or limit your device's advertising identifier at any time from your system settings. For details on how Google itself handles this data, see Google's Privacy Policy and Google Ads Settings.
If you choose to share a Passport place — for example, as a card to send to a friend — the shared image includes only the city and country, never your exact coordinates. You can hide even the city before sharing. Nothing is shared automatically.
Your data stays on your device for as long as the app is installed. You can delete a single Passport place from within the app, or remove everything at once by uninstalling SAMT or clearing its storage from your device's app settings. Because there is no SAMT server, deleting it from your device deletes it everywhere it exists.
SAMT is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Because the app shows ads through Google AdMob, it is not intended for use by children in a context where ad personalization to a minor would occur.
If this policy changes, the "last updated" date at the top of this page will change with it. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
